Week of Rededication
This week is a time of Rededication to the LORD.   During this week, all members are asked to recommit themselves to Jesus Christ, His Church and each other.  This is an opportunity to give ourselves as new creatures to Christ, His Church and each other.  John, the Baptist reminds us that the evidence of true repentance is the presence of new fruit!  This new fruit is represented throughout new attitudes and behavior.  When the Temple of God was rededicated under the leadership of Hezekiah, the people brought sacrifices, thank offerings and burnt offerings to symbolize their recommitment.  Let our sacrifices and offerings to the LORD include the giving of ourselves as new creatures.

WEEK OF REPENTANCE

In keeping with our study of repentance (see II Chronicles 7:14), and in preparation for our Week of Rededication to the LORD, we are observing a special week of repentance beginning today.  During this week we are asking everyone to seek God and each other for forgiveness.  This will of course require us to forgive others.

As we move toward another level of spiritual maturity and ministry, we must be cleansed and prepared for greater service.  Remember, the power of repentance lies not in simply saying your're sorry, but in being godly sorrowful for what you have done or neglected to do.  When you seek forgiveness from others, allow them the opportunity to express their pain and anger.  Sit quietly without trying to defend yourself.  Although you've been carrying the guilt of not admitting your fault, they have been carrying the pain of being wounded.  Both of you need deliverance!  Allow time for God to express His disappointment at your transgressions.  The journey of repentance leads to the doorway of forgiveness and reconciliation.
